Autobiography Volume 2 circa 1865
On the I met in council
in the morning with the Presidency and Twelve. Two
messengers arrived from the Pine Count^r^y with word
from Lyman Wight wanting counsel concerning preaching
to the Indians. Joseph thought it wisdom not
to do it and said that if Lyman Wight did it
he must do it upon his own responsibility and concluded
not to send him any counsel but to let him act
with the best wisdom he had.
