A hand pointing to the right I wrote 6 Public Letters & 1 to Jaques. I was in
council with the Twelve most of the day upon the
subject of a settlement of our Law suit I spent

Chattanooga, Tenn., Pres. Woodruff. Dear Brother, Your very welcome favor of the 15th inst. came duly to hand and we will do our best to carry out the instructions and counsel therein contained. We have been continually cautioning the Elders against stering up mobs or caus- ing the people to become excited but it seeems almost impossible to spread the word of God without bringing about these things, especially is this the case where the Elders go into new sections where none have ever been before, in fact where the Elders are doing the most good, there, as a very natural consequence the devil rages most and the many and the many false- hoods that are circulated and the threat- enings that are breathed out are taken up by the papers and copied from one

Prest Willford Woodruff Dear Bro Our Temple association meeting, come off on July 9th for the Election of Officers for the association for the next four years; please give us your sejestion who you would like for said officers, the present incumberents as as follows, M. W. Merrill Prest N C Edlefsen Vice Prest, James A Leishman Sec, G. W. Thatcher Treas, and Lorenzo Snow, Charles O. Card, W D Hendricks, Wm B Preston, Wm H. Maughan, Angus M. Cannon, and William Budge Directors, the directors have been so scattered it has been very difficult to get a meeting to do aney business for the association; and do you think it advisable to close the Temple for a month and take up carpets paint a little, and repair the Corni sh in the large Room where the leakeage has damaged it to some extent, there has been no sighn of leakeage since I got it fixed last Spring I hope your Health is good and the Lord will continue to protect you from all Enemies Respectfully yours M. Zenos, Mariopa Co., Arizona, Prest W. Woodruff Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Brother yours of June 8th has been received on the subject of Education. And we fulley endorse its contents and have appointed the following named brethern as a board for this Stake Collins R. Hakes Henry J. Horn William L Barron Oscar M. Stewart Frank P. Jones They were sustained at our Conference Yesterday. We had a delightfull time at our Meetings and enjoyed a good degree of the Spirit of the Lord We have had three Deaths during the Past Week and one this morning with two others Laying very low very respectfully Yours Chas I Robson
