18 Keys crossed A crown We went on the side of the Mountains & gathered
some oar And drove up the canyon to the Recorders office
And Asahel Entered the Land as Mill Minneral Land
we fished going home I caught 7, Asahel 245. we
spent the night in camp

President Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother The contents of your letter were forwarded me while in Manassa Colo after my arrival there with a small company of Saints from the South. Since the receipt of your first letter concerning the matter we have been particularly careful in our instructions to the Elders to remain as quietly as possible and endeavor in every way to avoid any excitement An immediate satisfactory result of these strictures, could not have been expected but since that time the feelings of the people toward us have been gradually toning down, and from a letter I found awaiting my arrival here on Monday morning I learn that compar- ative quietness now reigns in the Mission, and you can rest assured we shall use every exertion to have it remain so.
