Provo City, Utah, President Wilford Woodruff. Chariman Genl. Board of Education. Dear Brother, Immediately after my return to Provo, last Tuesday evening, I reported to Bro. A. O. Smoot, President of B. Y. A. Board of Trustees, the decision of the General Board of Education in regard to my continuing for the present as Principal of the B. Y. Acad- emy subject to the call of the General Board sooner or later to assume the active duties of General Superintendent of the Church schools, and that Bro. Talmage was to be at once to be transferred to the Salt Lake Stake Academy, ^and that^ the Board of which would be instructed to make their own financial arrangements with the Professor. President Smoot received my communication with satisfaction expressing the hope that I would not be called away during the coming academic year. He appointed at once Wednesday, July 11, evening, for the meeting of the Board of the Academy. A Quorum being present at the appointed hour, the points concerning Bro.
