The Contributor, JUNIUS F. WELLS, Editor. P.O. Box 305. Salt Lake City, July 13 1888 Prests. Wilford Woodruff & Jos. F. Smith Dear Brethren: In response to your com- munication, and to additional counsel from Bro. Joseph F. received this evening, I shall proceed without delay to the preparation of our books and mak- ing the arrangmeents for their distribu- tion. In doing so I will be met at an early stage of my labors with a demand for money. This was anticipated when the proposition was first presented and Bro. Thatcher laid the matter before the Council of the Apostles, who voted to support the enterprise to the extent of $5000. It is not expected that any such sum or any amount at all will ^need to^ be appropriated; but that amount of capital may be need-
